Why most people fail at losing weight

Most people fail miserably at losing weight. You have heard this many times that most diets don’t work and the fact is that this is true.

Many people will start on a diet but the percentage that will succeed and achieve the weight loss that they desire will only be small compared to those who fail.

And when they fail many people will try again or change to another diet in the hope that the next diet will work.

One of the problems that face people who are on a diet is the fact that they are constantly thinking about food. It is on their mind all the time because they are on a diet.

They talk about it to others, they tell everyone they are on a diet and food becomes the main focus of their thoughts throughout the day.

Does this sound like you?

When you start a diet the first thing you have to start dealing with in most cases is hunger and that is something that is too hard for most people to endure and for this reason most diets fail.

No one wants to starve and it is only human nature to do everything we can to ensure we get sufficient food so that we won’t starve.

If you are trying to maintain a diet that constantly leaves you feeling hungry all the time then you are most likely destined to failure. It’s just too difficult and life wasn’t meant to be that hard.

The outcome for most people after having to endure this period of hardship is to get back onto the ‘eating too much’ bandwagon and pile the weight back on that has been lost on the diet, albeit at a far faster rate.

So that weight that you might have struggled to lose over a period of months will go back on in weeks leaving you feeling more disappointed than you would have been had you never dieted in the first place.

3 poor weight-loss errors to be avoided

Despite the fact that there is so much information available about weight loss, the same weight-loss errors are being made more and more every day. This is not just slipups where you ate a piece of pie that was not in the plan, but serious mistakes that led to failure to lose weight you want to lose. Understanding these mistakes can help to develop the attitude that will lead to permanent weight loss for you.

1. The attitude of all or nothing

All or nothing complicated dietitians often choose a diet that is almost impossible for them to maintain. Before they begin they go to the kitchen, get everything that does not fit into the plan and throw it in the garbage. They are planning to be the dieter perfect, and that, one day, three days, seven days or even a couple of weeks. Then, inevitably, something happen which means it can not maintain a diet at the same time. Immediately all this has vanished in the eye, and the diet is over. They go to the store and buy everything that went into the garbage last week .

If you are this kind of dieter you need to ask you some basic questions. Do you really want to lose weight permanently, or just lose a few pounds in order to be able to enjoy it again? The way forward is to make small changes to what came to a slow but steady weight loss.

2. The attitude of sacrifice

Another common mistake is to see the diet as a period of sacrifice. You do not allow yourself the foods you enjoy the most, while you are en route to your goal weight. You can have a great plan and diet to be very successful at losing weight, but what happens when you reach your goal? He has not learned to eat “bad food” in moderation, in order to begin soon, is likely to go out of control. It is better to understand a little bit of everything in your diet and learn to enjoy in small quantities. Yes, even chocolate!

3. The lack of targets

The setting achievable objectives is of vital importance in any plan for weight loss. The objectives should be clear, realistic and in writing. While it is likely to have an ideal weight in your mind, unless you only very slightly overweight probably is too far to be useful. A goal would be more useful to lose two pounds a week for the first five weeks, and then a pound a week later. Some weeks you will lose more and some less, a few weeks can also win, but if you track your progress on a graph, we see that there are ups and downs natural and you do not stop moving steadily towards its main objective.

If you did these errors, do not worry. The most important point in the diet as in many other things, is to go forward. Learning from its failures as well as its success and do not use an error as an excuse to leave. The only way to achieve their goal is to make a permanent commitment to become a healthy person. Remember to eat normally includes eating a few days more and others less. Learning to enjoy food in moderation and to possess all possibilities to avoid such bad food.

The evidence is clear. In order to remain healthy and thriving people must lose weight. The only clear way to do this is for people to use a sensible, safe and healthy weight loss program.

Do I really need to lose weight ?

Each day in the United States, million of Americans say to themselves “I need to lose weight.” Are you one of those individuals? If you are a woman and if you are like many other women, there is a good chance that you are concerned with your appearance. When it comes to appearance, there are many women who are concerned with their weight, namely the weight that they would like to shed or need to shed. Unfortunately, many women believe that they need to lose weight when they really don’t.

While many of the individuals who tell themselves that they need to lose weight don’t need to lose weight, not all do. So, the question that many ask themselves is “do I really need to lose weight?” If that is a question that you have asked yourself before, you will want to continue reading on.

The standard answer is that you’re overweight if your body mass index (BMI) is 25 or higher and obese if your BMI is 30 or higher. But some new research is confusing the weight-and-health issue a bit.

One of the many signs that you may need to lose weight is if you are obese. Many individuals do not realize that there is a difference between being overweight and being obese. While different health care professionals have different definitions for obese, it is often said that those who are thirty or forty pounds overweight are obese. If you are obese, you shouldn’t only be worried about your appearance, but your health as well. Obesity has been linked to multiple health complications, including the early onset of death.

Another one of the many signs that you should lose weight is if you have been told that you need to do so. Whether your physician recommended losing weight or if someone that you know on a personal level has, it is advised that you at least take their suggestions into consideration. Unfortunately, many individuals are embarrassed or become upset when they are told that they need to lose weight. What you need to remember is that the individual mentioning your weight to you likely isn’t as concerned with your appearance as they are with your health.

Another sign that you may want to think about losing weight is if you are finding that your clothes no longer fit you. Of course, it is normal for some individuals to gain weight or to have their weight fluctuate, but you may want to think about joining a weight loss program or developing your own weight loss plan if you find that your clothes no longer fit or are difficult to get into. Unfortunately, many individuals do not just have a small weight gain. Small weight gain often leads to more, which could have a negative impact on your health. It is also important to mention the cost of new clothes, which you may not be able to afford.

If you find many simple tasks or activities, like walking up a flight of stairs, difficult, you may want to think about losing weight. Of course, becoming out of breath from simple activities may not necessarily just be a weight problem, but there is a good chance that it is. When you lose weight, even just a little bit of it, you will likely find it easier to do many of the activities that you love or even the tasks that you need to do, like take your kids to the park.

The above mentioned signs are just a few of the many signs that you may need to lose weight. Should you wish to lose weight, you are advised to proceed with caution. There are a number of weight loss products on the market, like diet pills or exercise equipment, which do not work. To save yourself money and to protect your health, you may want to consider consulting with your physician before starting any weight loss program, even one that you develop yourself.

To your good health,
